Check you downloaded the right file
What is this? Every file has a unique fingerprint (also called a checksum): a long string of letters and numbers. If your download has the same fingerprint as the one below, your copy is identical to the file we host. It isn't damaged, and it wasn't swapped on the way.
- File fingerprint (SHA-256)
- dba00e7d2377fdfcfb18c789a3b2f86532ff76a55c4532cd404c6a3b0871bbad
- Compare the whole string, not just the start. Calculated from the live file on 7 October 2026.
No match? Delete the file and download it again. Still no match? Don't install it. A match shows the file is intact. It doesn't show what the app does, so only install apps you trust.

The other values
- File size
- 13 MB (13,004,672 bytes)
- Short fingerprint (MD5)
- 342475e8f9f482b28781b3a2d4ea1820
- Shorter and easier to compare, but older.
On a computer
- Save the file, then open a terminal in that folder: Command Prompt on Windows, Terminal on macOS or Linux.
- Run the line for your system:
Windows certutil -hashfile playtech.apk SHA256 macOS shasum -a 256 playtech.apk Linux sha256sum playtech.apk - Compare the result with the SHA-256 above. Every character should match.
For the MD5, use MD5 instead of SHA256 on Windows, or md5 / md5sum on macOS / Linux. If your phone or browser saved the file under another name, such as playtech (1).apk, use that name instead.
Only have a phone? Many hash-checker apps on Google Play do the same job. Choose SHA-256 and compare.
Advanced: the signing certificate
Every Android app is signed by its publisher, like a signature on a letter. An update only installs over an existing app if it carries the same signature, so this one stays the same even when the file changes.
- Signing certificate (SHA-256)
- 36d55cb71e6a770b4e92c0db0d793eadf7da3d497acd13e52e0af2e43f771d38
To read it from the file, run apksigner verify --print-certs playtech.apk (part of Android SDK build-tools).
